Am I missing something, or does the game completely fail to explain what a just guard is, or how to do it? It's not in the manual, and I don't see it in training.
In any case, thanks for the vid Puddle. I found it extremely helpful.

@wxz177 The tap timing is 4 frames or less, Which means press*frame*release. In a nutshell, press the button **JUST** before the attack the lands, as fast as you possibly can. It's tough, but outrageously powerful if you can do it. You're best off using it to kill unblockables or telegraphed attacks and stealing momentum, for standard strings just stick with blocking =p

@StickySweetCrue No. From the guide - "you can't attempt it just after releasing guard. If you're attempting to block a string, you must release the button quick enough to give it enough time to reset before attempting again. This makes blocking some strings very difficult". You clearly can block strings, but no mashing. You have a 4 frame window to press the button and let go of it before the attack hits. Good luck! =]

Great video my friend. Well done showing off this very overlooked attribute to SC. And props to you, it's hard as fuck.

To me, it's even harder than parrying in 3's ...!
-
@Harperlarp Very true, the guards in SC4 were easy for all (though certainly not used by all) so they were still just as useful and unexpected.

@AtiwiSaka
with this move namco wasn't pandering to the casual crowd. This is an advanced technique that will probably heavily influence the high level tournament scene. it's not always just about the 12 year olds who play xbox live..
