  • I seriously hope you don't keep squirrel monkeys in a bird cage. They are extremely delicate and are prone to developing neurosis. Please be careful and make sure you do research about their natural social structure and diseases and neuroses that they are prone to in captivity :)

  • @SElement91 That is an old video. I used that cage when Joey was a baby. Then only during winters to keep them inside (maybe 10 days out of year as I live in Miami). Since then there cage has grown progressively larger as Joey got older and larger, and as my troop grew. Their current enclosure is 10ftx16ftx6ft tall, with natural substrate on parts, nest boxes, swings etc. I am constantly reading about them...primatology books, manuals written by lab professionals, and pet owners.

  • @SElement91 You can look up my other videos with their current caging. I am still researching on them 5 years later. They are my life. I understand that they are wild animals, and respect them as such. I assure you they are happy and healthy.

  • Where did u get your cage

  • @TheAwsomejo I think I got that one from Ebay for like $300. But that was from when Joey was a baby. I don't have that one anymore. After that they had the Big green double Macaw cage, then the 6ft x10xt dog kennel with chicken wire to close the openings. Now they have a 10ftx16ft x 6ft high cage made from 1inch chain-link. This will be their permanent cage...for now at least LOL. I have videos of all the cages up so you can see progress.

  • that door on the cage is what i'm worried about little monkey fingers would be gone sorry just concerned

  • they have never caught their fingers on the door. I am always careful before I close thier cage that they are not there. But this could happen with any door on any cage. Not sure what the worry would be with this particular cage.

  • @xeileen916x

I read everything on your website and am happy to see your videos. Im guessing this video was taken before you got your third little guy:) i have wanted one of these for my whole life and soon enough i will be ready to start raising my monkeys.

  • @xeileen916x That's great! Keep up the reading! It is definitely important to stay up to date with current primatology research. I'm sure they are healthy- happy, there is no way to judge that, quite honestly, as we cannot see into the minds of these primates. However, it does seem like you are honestly concerned about the well being of these animals
