My child, 4 days after stopping Invega (antipsychotic). She was trying desperately to go to sleep, but could not stop moving (as you can see for yourself).

  • 1. Try heavy clothing: Jacket, socks, pants, long shirt.

    2. Try copper or stainless necklace, waist, anklets (strange but works).

    Capacitance?

  • @PepLacy That is fantastic advice! Thank you. Using a weighted blanket really helped her as well as gross motor activity and weighted silverware.

  • @PepLacy Heavy clothing, weighted blankets (for sleeping), and weighted silverware have all been helpful. Thank you for the suggestions!

  • that happened to me after I stopped taking tegretol, but it stopped. I used to swim in my bed. Did hers stop or has it continued?

  • @returnoftheramble Her TD waxes and wanes. Some days it is nearly imperceptible and does not interfere with fine motor tasks such as buttoning clothes, writing, etc.

  • @TheeBonnis - Prozac also works for me, $4 monthly, but it takes a few weeks before any noticeable change. Mainly that it relaxes me, perfectly still. It's strange that I sometimes have to force myself to relax, to let go of the anxiety jitters.

  • @Sammygirl1231 The mind is one amazing thing. If you're sure that you cannot function then you cannot. But I was diagnosed myself, and I stopped taking meds at some time and realized that I was part of a whole social system dynamic... it is hard but I went through it. I believe the brain can heal itself best.

  • @jacobbis4lovers I agree

  • @Sammygirl1231

It happens to people AFTER they STOP taking the medication. The reason you can not function is from the WITHDRAWAL from the medication.

  • This looks more like Akathesia.

  • @Speedskate2014

God didnt create Invega, we did......

  • @Crystalballer274

Thats not true I need my psychiatric medications without them I cannot function TD is an uncommon side effect its unfortunate when it happens.
