I love the Slingcatcher. It brings the Slingbox experience to the television and allows for extra functionality that is also pretty fun.

  • Very nice review. Thanks for doing that. I have one querry though. You said you are streaming with your slingbox that is connected to your brother's cable box in Austin, TX. However, you never said where you were at the time it was streaming. If you did say it then I missed it so sorry. This is important for me since I'm planning to stream from California to Europe.

  • @YerBuddy2 I am currently in West Africa and it works like a charm when my local Internet provider is working well. I would imagine that in Europe you might have even better potential for good, stable high speed Internet. You just want to make sure that the location in CA where you will be streaming from has a very good upstream speed (I would suggest 1-2 Mbps upload speed). If your download speed matches or exceeds that upload speed you should be fairly happy with the results.

  • @JulietteDeltaWhisky Awsome! Thanks for the quick reply. Again, your review video is probably the best I've seen for an acutal user. Now that I know you are in West Africa and getting that good of quality from Texas then it's even better. I think i'll be just fine since the Slingbox location in California has 40mps upload and download speeds and my download speed here in Europe is 6mps. That should be good enough to watch very nicely. Again, thank you very much!

  • @YerBuddy2 Hey Man, That is a great setup. Glad it is working out well for you.

hi i am looking to buy a sling catcher , my question is this lets say u got cable reciever at home location one..for example..

u are gonna watch it some where different city location 2 .. for example.. on tv with network

so my question is is it possible to watch two differetn channels at same time...

lets say ur family is watchign one channel at home.. u take the sling catcher to some other place and watch the channnel u want without interferring

  • @saqeeb90

Hey, I cannot watch something different on the Slingcatcher at location 2 because the Slingbox is connected to the only cable box at location 1. If the Slingbox were connected to a separate cable/sat box at location 1 then I could watch something different on the Slingcatcher at location 2. Hope that makes sense.

  • Thanks for the video. This was one of the better videos on the slingcatcher on youtube.

I would recommend for you to use a TV capture card with an analogue input (like an EyeTV Hybrid, Hauppauge 1212 PVR) instead of holding up a camera in front of your tv, and then narrate over the top of that.

  • Thanks for the comment. Yeah, I noticed there weren't too many user reviews out there so I decided I should put one up.
