I attended this remarkable recital last year
but what made it all the more emotional and unimaginable is that the Father of this amazing pianist had passed away sadly just a few days before
and the pianist on stage was in tears and grief and almost cancelled this appearance but announced that? he would play in his memory nonetheless.
The funeral was held apparently the next day. It was very moving and unforgettable.

Despite an unimportant mistake at the beggining, this performance is magical. The sense of the legato is exceptional. All the ornementations are not treated as such but integrated into the melody.
The touch is often at the border of silence. This performance is among the best I have ever heard.

I have found out he plays a custom Steingraeber. Nice.

I am new to this performer but I can already tell you he is in the top tier in this repertoire: Wonderful touch, great dynamic proportions, good pedal work, intimate knowledge of the idiom, and NO histrionics. Apparently, he has chosen to play the notes on the page with his fingers. Imagine that!
I also, once again, love the quietness of the body during this scintillating performance.
Love to hear more.
