Diabetes Epidemic-Crisis for Diabetes Educators & Patients

Scott King speaks with Donna Rice, President of the American Association of Diabetes Educators (AADE) about the crisis facing Diabetes Educators and their patients during a worldwide diabetes epidemic. Despite a worldwide epidemic in diabetes where diabetes education could help patients, for various reasons described in this video, diabetes educators are losing their jobs and diabetes centers are closing their doors. As a result diabetes patients are not receiving the information and knowledge they need from diabetes educators to help them treat their diabetes. Hopefully, patients will learn from this video that they should request their doctor to refer them to a diabetes educator near them for education and treatment and support to help them better manage their diabetes.
