DevarsiratDas@gaudiya-vaishnava-theology.comThis video shows how animal slaughter and meat eating is absolutely negative in more then one way ad this is without even talking about bad karma.

What do you think when you hear the words 'vegetarian diet? Lettuce beans and carrots? If you think yes, then that is the wrong idea.

Vegetarian foods are full of flavour, essential nutrients and everything else needed to maintain a healthy body. Dishes can also be very fun to make!! When done properly, a vegetarian or vegan diet can be healthier than a diet including meat. If you do not believe this, here are some proven facts:

* Vegetarians and vegans have 1/3 to 1/2 the cancer risk of omnivores.

* Being able to control your weight is a natural outcome of a low-fat vegetarian diet.*

* An male meat-eater has a 50% chance of dying of a heart attack, compared to virtually no chance for a pure vegetarian .

* The incidence of high blood pressure is generally greater among meat-eaters than among vegetarians. Cancer of the breast, colon and prostate are most common among people on a high-..meat, high-fat, low-fibre diet.*

* If you eat fish for 'health reasons', you may want to re-think that decision: The flesh of fish can a toxins up to 9 million times as concentrated as those in the waters that they live in.

* Shrimps and scallops have more cholesterol than beef.

* According to the Centres for Disease Control and Prevention, 325,000 people get sick and some die every year in the U.S. from eating contaminated fish and other sea animals.**

* Raising farm animals for food products is taking its toll on the planet. Overgrazed land leads to top soil erosion; demand for beef has led to clearing of rainforests for grazing land. Faeces and urine spill from animal factories and pollute fresh water supplies for humans and wildlife. ..Animal food items are produced at the expense of the environment.

* For every pound of meat produced, the slaughtered animal consumed up to 16 pounds of grain. When millions of people die of famine each year, it's apparent that meat is a poor choice for humanity because producing meat is inefficient compared to feeding grain directly to people.

* In a recent test, there was found to be more bacteria on a piece of store-bought chicken than. there was in a used public restroom.

Finally

"If slaughterhouses had glass walls, everyone would be vegetarian."

Sir Paul McCartney

* Animals Are Not Ours to Eat
* Animals Are Not Ours to Wear
* Animals Are Not Ours to Experiment On
* Animals Are Not Ours to Use for Entertainment
* Animals Are Not Ours to Abuse in Any Way

  • Those stats in the sidebar are absurd. A vegetarian has 0 chance of a heart attack ? Do you even know what a heartattack is ? Also in the same way a plant converts sunlight into something edible and adding nutrients, a cow does the same by converting the plantlife to muscle. These are nutrients weve evolved around and need. 16 pounds of grain is not greater than 1 pound of meat

  • For every pound of meat produced, the animal consumed up to 16 pounds of grain. When millions of people die of famine each year, it's apparent that meat is a poor choice for humanity because producing meat is inefficient compared to feeding grain directly to people.

  • Studies show that people who experience frequent heart attacks often have high cholesterol levels; many also smoke or have high blood pressure. When these factors are controlled, heart attacks become rare. Foods that are high in saturated fat and cholesterol, such as meat and dairy products, are the major contributors to high cholesterol levels. In fact, animal products are the only sources of dietary cholesterol.

  • Eating less meat is a great idea for health reasons but according to the lastest studies only 3% of greenhouse gases come from cattle rather than 18% as reported by Paul and the faux scientists. Less meat production would in fact cause stavation. Read the article:

"Don't blame cows for climate change Mar 4, 2010 10:39 AM, UC Davis" We also now know the climate is cooling right now and is always changing. It was warming. Man has little control over climate. California will now roll back AB32.

  • Our meat-based diet is partly to blame, as land, water, and other resources that could be used to grow food for human beings are being used to grow crops for farmed animals instead. According to a recent report by Compassion in World Farming, "crops that could be used to feed the hungry are instead being used to fatten animals raised for food." It takes up to 16 pounds of grain to produce just 1 pound of edible animal flesh. The saved grains, could eliminate all starvation in very little time.
