Matthew J. Slick is the creator and webmaster of the Christian website "Christian Apologetics and Research Ministry" (http://www.carm.org ), and is the host of a related radio program in Boise, Idaho entitled "Faith and Reason". Slick is a Protestant presuppositional apologist and a leader in the counter-cult movement. He considers it his mission to "answer opposition to the Christian faith," which in his view includes all non-Christian worldviews and non-Protestant denominations of Christianity, including Catholicism (though he believes many individual Catholics are saved) and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

What is The Atheist Experience?

The Atheist Experience is a weekly cable access television show in Austin, Texas, geared at an atheist and non-atheist audience. The Atheist Experience is produced by the Atheist Community of Austin (ACA), a nonprofit educational corporation to develop and support the atheist community, to provide opportunities for socializing and friendship, to promote secular viewpoints, to encourage positive atheist culture, to defend the first amendment principle of state-church separation, to oppose discrimination against atheists and to work with other organizations in pursuit of common goals.

  • @lowellkylewilliamson You don't limit yourself from beleiving in him, you're open to every option and because of that you weigh up the evidence and logic and realise its not true

  • @lowellkylewilliamson To be fair, to be a freethinker does NOT imply taking all things anyone claims into ones brain and squeeze them in. It means "[the] philosophical viewpoint that holds opinions should be formed on the basis of science, logic, and reason, and should not be influenced by authority, tradition, or other dogmas."

Afraid belief-based arguments are automatically out with freethinking, in fact. So "freethinking believer" is indeed an oxymoron.

  • You can choose a ready guide in some celestial voice

If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice

You can choose from phantom fears and kindness that can kill

    I will choose a path that's clear

    I will choose freewill

  • Nice! Rush on the bumper music... Oh, and god is dog spelled backwards...Just sayin.

  • @lowellkylewilliamson It's an oxymoron. Freethinking believer

  • 5:05 Before the actual discussion starts in case you're wondering...

  • How can you be a "freethinker" and want to limit yourself from believing in God?

  • Matt enjoys rock...and he pretends to be a drummer. True dat!
