When I was a kid and I loved watching this, I'm not sure if I realised fred was a metaphor for imagination and suppressed life and childhood emotional abuse. I mean I got that he was an imaginary friend, but really this movie was pretty deep. When I was young I laughed, as I got older I laughed and cried a little. Now it's even heartbreaking. This movie got slashed in reviews, but it's almost perfect and those who grew up watching it appreciate it on many levels.

This and Labyrinth were very defining movies from my childhood. Perhaps explains why I'm so odd now. And why I've a penchant of odd Englishmen.
But rly, whatev'z, this movie is infinitely fun, particularly this scene, which makes me wish I had an awesome imaginary friend to remind me I'm awesome and to pay no mind to haters. Really, who doesn't need someone like that in their corner?
