Economy got you down? Well, it wasn't too good in other times, even before FDR came along and pulled our ass out of the fire. A poem of a past debate about our nations currency, about the time period of the McKinley/Bryan debates when they ran for president. Just right for all the modern populists who only care about gold in order to speculate with, like the greedy little children they are.

Drew, My six year old son looked from the TV and said, "I know what's wrong with the world, it's money. We don't need money." I don't know what he had in mind as replacement. The years seem to have verified the insight of the innocent. The "media" of exchange is a fantasy. Humans have swallowed a fiction and are doomed to flop around on the boat deck until we figure out what is really of value-worth, or die. Think! It may be human-natural energy, physical, mental and creative...

Awesome comment Gwen. That was also the thinking of FDR. He mentions that concept explicitly in his first inaugural speech after telling people they had been a little crazy chasing after those illusory profits.
