Here's a work in progress: remaking a 1970-vintage Drive-In Intermission film. This is only the work done so far re-creating this classic film for today's audiences. The original soundtrack can still be heard in this test, but it will be remastered later in our production process and become a Dolby SR 4-channel stereo mix.

Even though this clip is short (the running time of the finished film will be 60 seconds), a lot of work has gone into it thus far (green screen composites, animation, timing, etc.) - with much yet to come. But we think the results are worth it.

  • There were no green-screen composites in 1970. If you want a snipe to look like it was made in 1970, you have to use 1970 techniques.

Traveling mattes go back to the 1930s. Image compositing goes back to the silent days. Regardless, I never said I wanted it to look like it was made in 1970. Even if I had, I certainly would NOT have to forego the use of modern tools.
