"In the Ghetto" is a song written by Mac Davis and was originally titled "The Vicious Circle". The song was made popular by rock and roll singer Elvis Presley. It was released in 1969 as a 45 rpm single with "Any Day Now" as the flip side. It is a narrative story of a young boy who grows up in the ghetto, steals and fights, and eventually is shot and killed. Now, picture this - it's the year 2009 - so 40 years later- not much has changed, has there?! We can still see ghetto's, and i don't mean just the ones in Africa and other poor regions, but also in the U.S. and - all over the world, poor and rich countries alike ! Let's send a message, together, out there - to the people that can really make a change ! I want this song to be the start of something...but if not, then at least, i know the viewer that watches this will at least have a couple of minutes of reflection upon his/her actions ! Thanks for watching. Thanks for giving this a try. Cheers.

  • Love it!

  • Holly Crap!!!

  • damn, i loooooooove your voice ! Your cover rocks

  • You are so right.. And your cover is amazing

  • Well Guy, Guy Aldo...has a ring to it. Nice voice. You should choose something more mainstream to promote your message. Go to a radio station a tv network whatever not YouTube though. But if you want to sing sing boy sing be free and choose country. It needs a voice like yours at this time.

  • Aldo, your humble message is admirable, however I think you can dig somewhat deeper and see that the very rich are the ones who are the most miserable with life. They buy THINGS and then more, more, more grasping for a moment of veneered happiness. Never lose your humble attitude because you are going to be in the midst of the spotlight someday. Just remember.........

  • Sweet song! Love you're voice Aldo! ;)

  • 17 people were born in the ghetto

  • thanks for accepting my video response. your version of this song is fantastic
