John Tory Leadership Review Meltdown

Shoving match between Tory supporters and grassroots Conservatives at John Tory Leadership Review February 23, 2008 at London Convention Centre.

"The simmering tension between pro- and anti-Tory factions bubbled to the surface following the leader's speech. As Willis spoke to reporters, a group of his supporters gathered behind him chanting "Tory! Tory!" A woman angrily shoved them aside, telling them to "shut up."

"As Roland Willis, a member of Mr. Devlin's campaign, told reporters that Mr. Tory made a bad decision on the faith based schools policy, a group of the leader's supporters began shouting, "Tory, Tory, Tory." This prompted an elderly woman who is part of the Devlin camp to rise out of her seat and shout, "Shut up." She then punched the young man, Jeff Lindquist, in the chest."
