35% of all CO2 are produced by cars, as much as all industrial one. and for cars, the CO2 emission mostly are produced during traffic jam. It can be avoided, if the cars are 100% electric. every one saw the effects during beijing olympic by using odd/even number to restrict cars on street, the sky was actually became blue later. Imagine all the cars on street are BYD elctric car or dural mode green car...pollution free!!

for chinese goverment, Instead of giving 40% tax rebate and subsidy to the customer, I think rebate and subsidy should be gave to producer. it can encourage the innovation, also reduce the average cost, decrease marginal cost, and increase supply. To make products from those native green tech car companies such as Jeeley, BYD more affordable to every chinese family. above all, though environmental problem are caused by economic one, should deel it economically.

power plant has better energy efficiency than individual engine, even use coal, electric cars help reduce 35% of all CO2 emission. Not sure why you emphasis COAL when it come to China? US with 45.5% of its engery from Coal, as a tiny country with fraction population of China, even Canada still use coal power electric plant as major part of its energy. Yes, China is using coal as major energy source, but China devotes more resources than any other countries in developing green energy.

China is the 4th largest wind energy producer and user, with 10% of all global green energy share. Chinese wind turbine farms produced 12.2gigawatts electricity in the end of 2009.
