This is an aerial view of television station WAFF's weather radar taken out by the massive EF5 tornado on April 27, 2011. The view shows the radar, moves past some homes damaged and destroyed, and then turns back for a better view of the radar site. The radar is located just off Alabama Highway 72 between Athens and Huntsville, Alabama in the Bethel community. The building beside the radar was Bethel Church of Christ. This video was shot by Rex Free and is provided for the public to view courtesy of him, Alabama State Trooper Pilot Lonnie Burns, and Alabama State Representative Ken Johnson. All of the video segments together cover a 93 mile path of destruction on April 27th in northern Alabama that killed 70 people on that day. This video was taken on Saturday, April 30, 2011. This tornadoes path of destruction started in northern Alabama just northwest of Hackleburg and ended northwest of Huntsville.
