Kylie learns to ski at Chestnut Mountain!

Our daughter has Phelan-McDermid Syndrome which is a very rare genetic disorder that causes a severe mental disability. She was 8 1/2 years old at the time this video was shot in January 2010. Kylie functions at about an 18-month old with her verbal communication skills. We had no idea she could learn to ski. Thanks to the great instructors at Chestnut Mountain Resort in Galena, Illinois! We are a family with a special needs child that went to Chestnut after Kylie was there and they told us about this. They were so impressed by how well she did and we know how well it feels. We are very glad to see her do so well. The help at Chestnut was wonderfull and we all hope to see her back there again.
