The song works on account of graceful and gentle harmonies. Timeless in its almost ghostly sounding humanity. It  beautifully embodies femininity in its purest form.

Singing it like a pop song doesn't do it any favours, sorry.

I strongly agree with you about what the song should be like,

I'm just disagreeing with the pop music part of your comment.

I don't mean to sound like pop. Someday, I'll make better, more professional covers of these songs. But for now, my goal is just to get my voice type across.

And besides, I personally connect with this song a great deal.

By the way, you're a great writer. :)

Pop music is quite a broad church, its not that all pop music is bad per-se, more that the kind of vocal additions you made to the song are the type more commonly used in pop music.
