Teaching the Sevilla Brothers( Ruben 6, Trevor 12 and Naithan,19 ) the 5 count knife drill to improve their reflexes. When we practice Eskrima, we practice with sticks, long bladed weapons, knives and empty hands( punches, elbows, kicks, sweeps, holding, trapping etc..) I believe that training with variations, will enhance learning more and keeps the students mind more alert.. Of course, the main foundation is still learning the sticks, but I always emphasize to my students that they have to be able to apply what they learn to empty hands..For me the stick or sticks is just a major tool in enhancing your reflexes and it is mandatory to learn it , that is if you want to have a major advantage in a real life or tournament scenario. I conduct group seminars or one one one private lessons, anywhere in the world. For serious inquiries, please email me at VCavada@aol.com.
Thank you for your interest in Filipino Martial Arts. ESKRIMA.. It is more than just sticks ! Master Virgil

  • This is really cool! The little one, Ruben, surprised me! All of them were great!

  • @Susanoo58 Yes, you so correct about Ruben ! He is the most active of the 3 brothers, lots of energy.

When I show them a particular technique or a drill, Ruben is the first one that will volunteer in doing it first !

All of them have a future in martial arts in particular and life in general !
