  • I just bought mine (same model as yours), did you find that out of the box you had to tighten the strings quite a bit? I don't have the sound that you do-thanks. It just seems to 'rattle'. VERY helpful video, too. Thanks!

  • @msinstructor You might have to tune it up :) I have to mess with mine a little too, but you should be able to dial it in.

    Rock On.

  • @boomdrums Thank you for the reply. I am ENJOYING your channel!!! I have tightened some but I am afraid of over tightening and snapping a string. Am I being unrealistic in looking for no rattle on the low end? Do I need to adjust my expectations? Thanks!

  • @msinstructor You will always have a little rattle in the low end.

    Rock On.

  • Nice Jen! Question...I want to buy a Cajon, but noticed there is a wide range of prices. Amazon has one for $52. Any advise on which Cajon--what to look for, should you not buy off the internet and play it first?

  • @yogasandy

I would get the Meinl Burl Wood cajon. It's my favorite. And get the case with it. You will be happy you did!

    Rock On.

  • Great instruction, Jen - I play the low end with a cupped hand & fingertips only so it resonates and allows me to keep the striking hand in place. Just a different technique... of course, the first time I played for 2+ hours straight, it took a week for my hands to heal. LOL

  • Your video is a favorite on Georgia

  • @msinstructor give me some time and ill upload mine, have you tried tightening the snare inside the cojan,

  • @SuspectProductionss They appear to be to me-but I that is just my thought. I am still not getting a good sound of mine--then again, it was only $100. But I have never really had this thing sounding good, are you?

  • @msinstructor Are all cajons the same size?

  • what the hell i play a drum kit is this easy to pick up for drummers?? its portable

  • i started my looking up "Skrillex remix" and through the mighty power of similar video suggestions i ended up here.. wtf?

  • @RyanIKJ lucky for you she has her legs wide open ;-)

  • Awesome cajon vids!!!! I recently broke the string on one side of my meinl burlwood cajon, I was wondering what is the best way to replace it, it looks like a guitar string, i assume its acoustic, but i have no clue how to replace it. Do i take the front plate off, and does the gauge of string matter. any help would be much appreciated thanks you
