This fabulous Coronet gem has a terrific story, great scripting, and pretty darn good acting to boot. Golly gee! What the heck were they thinking???!! And get this: they even incorporated the use of "split screen" to depict twins! Special effects? Coronet?! What the....

Ed gets fired and has to look for another job. He goes to a thoroughly unbelievable job interview with a guy who is determined to educate him out of his shortcomings, even though he's just met him. He tells him a contrived story about Bob (Gallant) and his twin brother Walter (Goofus), and how one is a slacker and the other is a booster. Ed sees his own slacking ways described and becomes a booster all the way, so he gets a great job in the mail room. This film is Coronet through and through. An absolute must-see!

Note: The following clip was taken directly from the original 16mm print and has been edited to aproximately half the film's original length.

See the complete original print up for auction on eBay through 10/23/2006!

  • If "Ambitious Young Man" was the only requirement for the latest and greatest postition, the ratio of applicants to position alone would plummit us into a new economic depression! In addition, the exclusion of women from the application process would certainly bring said fictitious company many painful lawsuits, both civil and Federal. Ah, how times have changed....

  • I like the classified looking for an "ambitious young man." WTF?

  • @AcePilot101 that actually sounds like a good deal....what year (s) was your diary job?

  • The best job I ever had was working on a dairy farm. I earned $5 an hour, the farmer gave me a truck and a place to sleep.

Even with union wages, my income can't be matched today.

  • Man, that job don't pays me as much as the guberment.

  • I think in today's society, the incompetent moron moves up to management, because it is more profitable to have them there while the hard worker remains at the bottom, because they are good at doing their job and making the company more money...

Managers talk about bullshit like optimizing and talk about performance ratings... EVEN if a truly loyal hard worker is rewarded, he prefers to stay useful and remains on the bottom... managers are the self centered "ambitious ones"

  • Splendid!

  • Bob is a split personality and doesn't know it! O_o

  • Ambitious Young Man is a great Job title

  • Hahahahaha. That was awesome.
