A drive around Minneapolis Minnesota on the interconnected segments of parkways and parks known as the Grand Rounds U.S. Scenic Byway

Video begins in northeast Minneapolis near the intersection of I-35W and Industrial Blvd. and covers all of St Anthony, Webber, Victory Memorial, Glenwood, Theodore Wirth, Cedar Lake, Dean, Lake of the Isles, and West Calhoun Parkways. Part II covers West Lake Harriet, Minnehaha, Godfrey, West River and James Rice Parkways.

Thanks for making this video. I recently move from MN to AZ. I am very home sick. I used to ride the Grand Rounds every sat. to gather my thoughts and regain my sanity from the stresses of daily life. After moving here it made me realize how good I really had it back in MN. My parrents lived in the first house behind Fat Lorenzos ( Nakomis ) back just before I was born back in 77 or 78. What a great trail. You are lucky to still live there. So Green!

You're welcome; I'm glad you like the video. I was through Arizona on a road trip this spring. I think AZ is just as beautiful as MN, but in a completely different way. It's 5 degrees F here right now, and we're expecting 8-12 inches of snow tomorrow. Times like this make me wish I lived in the high desert. It's a free country (for now); you can always come back home. I'll be thinking of you next time I take a spin around the lakes, DD. Thanks for your comments and good luck in AZ.

It's too bad it was partly cloudy the day you did this. A blue sky with just tufts of clouds would have really highlighted the greenness of the parkway. Not a complaint at all, just the deep desires of a man with a bit of homesickness.

The Best road for a "High Ride" around the city. my buddys and I take the parkway a lot during the summer... more by calhoun and nokomis tho.

I think this quite effectively shows how the planning of parkways and parks done for Minneapolis early in its history has really paid off.
