You really have to watch the entire series to appreciate the end of evangelion. Although it may not seem very linear or sensical, the end is probably one of the greatest movies I have ever seen. It truly is, in my opinion, the redemption of all the characters, primarily the redemption of shinji and asuka.

i seriously did not make sense of the flow of this show. i wanted to see it for myself since i read so contrary reviews and i concluded that yeah, the characters and their problems are realistic, that much is true but at the bottom line the storyline was uncomprehensible (for me) and it left you kind of.. disappointed? by no means do i wanna mock but y when i saw the ending it honestly reminded me of what i read in a review, that the writer was could have been high. it was promising though..

@tophana What? She was just telling a poor, depressed kid the FACTS.

@absolutJOskiiez Her problem is that she automatically sees ppl as Rivals. She can't be happy WITH or FOR them because she has the constant drive to be better (i.e, win the 'contest' of who gets Kaji, be the best EVA pilot...) And if they are her enemies/rivals, of course, she can't conect with them or see them as mother figure/love intrest. She just needs someone to beat it into her head that other people have feelings, too, like Rei does in Rebuild.

True but then again, I think Misato had a better connection with Shinji because Asuka had desired to be independent. Therefore Misato would understand that Shinji's self-esteem would be boosted through praise whereas she probably didn't understand Asuka as much. She pretty much shut herself off because they believed she was stronger alone. Also, Asuka refused a lot of attention from Misato because of the whole Kaji affair. That's how I remember it but it's been a while since I saw it
Too many typos in the subs. Detracts from the dramatic effect.

@LoveRabby Poor Shinji is flawed as well, but he is a poor cute depressed little thing that reminds Misato of herself as a kid. Of course she feels compelled to help him. Misato isn't perfect. She tried her best to help Asuka at best, but Asuka completely rejects Misato and any help from her.
