I'm just getting into photography. I was thinking going this rout as the new lenses are way out of my budget. Thank you for this great video!

Great video. I just set mine up with a Yashica 24mm. I was surprised at the results. Can't wait until my 39mm adapter arrives so I can try out the Nokton.

that look exactly like my cheap, made in china, OM to m4/3 adapter, like 100% identical, just saying ;)

hi there. guys, can you confirm the IS setting for this lens please? I just got mine and have the same set up as this video. Do I set IS to 50mm or 100mm? Cheers guys

I think on the EPL1 you can change the Focal Length setting in the menu to 50mm if you wanted to

I love this old Zuiko OM lens they work great with my Canon T2i and my Olympus E620

compression is a good thing
Hey taz,
I planned to do the same as you cause there is no real bright new 40mm/50mm out there for the e-pl2 by olympus. (only the 17mm f2,8)
The lens seems to be quite big after being connected to the adapter. Who handy is the camera with the 50mm on? is it hard to set the correct focus and aperture? is the 100mm too zoomy for streetfotography?
Enjoyed your vid. Greetings

@ElAlgasiras It's actually really easy to use, once you get use to it! I love the 50/1.8 so much, ended up getting the 55/1.2 as well! OM lenses are great!
However, for street photography, I'm not sure.. haven't used it in that setting yet, but I do have a take a few steps back when I shoot people, because the 2x factor.

Actually, you should set the IS to 50mm, not 100mm. And you don't need to set IS on if the camera is stationary or on a tripod.
That's a great OM lens. I have one just like it for my Pen. Good choice getting the "Made in Japan" version, and not just "Japan." How did you manage to get one that still has the box and paperwork. It looks brand new! How much did you get it for?

@domke803 Yes, somebody on Flickr told me the same thing about the IS, so I changed it back ^_^
I found it on ebay & paid $69 for it. There were cheaper ones, but because it came with the box and warranty card, I decided to pay a bit more for it. Still trying to learn how to use it, but pretty happy so far with the results!
