@thaoryan absolutely not. fish need fish tanks, not little jars. Even bettas need better.

If you're gunna get only one ghost shrimp I recommend getting a pregnant one.
I did. By accident... But, that's what I'm doing from now on.
And I think you can use pure spring water if you add stress zyme or something like that.

do you really need to put river water in to the biosphere ?

@lilah66 It doesn't have to come from a river but you need to get water from some natural body of water like a lake or pond. The water you get that way has millions of microorganisms that will help the ecosystem of your biosphere, tap water is purified and doesn't contain enough microorganisms to sustain a biosphere.

@zombiekiller50001 It depends on what kind of plant you use, I used elodia which can without being put under the gravel.

Yes, either buy distilled water or put dechlorinator in the water before pouring it in with the animals. In my case the pet store put enough tank water in the bags containing the animals that I didn't need any extra water.
