Making homemade raw cat food using the Hare Today raw pet food component (meat/bone/organ).
I use a recipe based on those at catinfo.org, catnutrition.org, and blakkatz.com. These recipes exceed AAFCO minimum nutrition guidelines, and I've personally used them for years.
If you find my video helpful, please take the time to provide me a ranking so more people will find it. Thanks!

  • does it need to be organic?

  • @vivi3722 It doesn't have to be organic

  • There is something a bit different in the way that I do things though - my personal preference is to weigh out the portions for my cats because two of three cats in our household have a tendency to overeat if they get a portion that's a bit larger than it should be.

  • @SuperKizzyCat - I actually weigh my portions as well, using an inexpensive postal scale (that I didn't use in the video).

  • Lynetteack - this is the diet I feed my cats, again sourced from the same sites as you've quoted and my cats are happy, healthy and enjoy their food immensely

  • @SuperKizzyCat - That's great! thanks for the comment. :)

  • There's a book that covers cat recipes in depth on Amazon -

Anna Maria Falamagetti Presents The Cat Lover's Cookbook And Tips for Better Living.

  • @lynetteack thanks! yeah, it does seem complicated. i may just invest in a grinder after all since i'll save money and hassle in the long run. i appreciate your quick response!

  • @wunderbeast

Dr Lisa Pierson (catinfo.org) has a boneless recipe - and yes, there is a way to supplement for boneless - but it's more complicated than just adding calcium. They need all the minerals bone would provide.

Dr. Hodgkins also has a boneless recommendation that involves adding Platinum Performance and a mineral supplement.

  • hey, thank you so much for posting this! currently, i can't afford a grinder or even the shipping costs for hare today (and i have a small freezer space). would i be able to use say ground turkey from a supermarket and make up for lack of bone and organs with more supplements for example adding more taurine, calcium etc.? thanks so much!
