US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has gone deep into Russia. She arrived in Kazan - the capital of Russia's republic of Tatarstan - from Moscow. Besides learning local culture and Muslim traditions, she found out that the US President Obama owes something to this republic (02:00).

  • No, these Tatars did not want the collapse of Russia

  • it doesn't come from russia, it comes from bob the builder.

  • what a coincidence, obamas socailist ideals can be traced back to russia too, maybe he should run for office there when he loses his job in 2012

  • The disintegration of Russia will be due to economic reasons, not because of its ethnic makeup. many regions in Siberia and the far east are angry about Moscow for taking away most of their wealth. Also, they are closer economically to China than to Moscow. The breakup of Russia is inevitable.

  • dude, go see psychiatrist. that's the best advice i can give you. bye.

  • mikkitiny - please stop lying. What "civil rights" are you talking about? In czarist Russia and the USSR people didn't have any civil rights at all and the minorities were discriminated against. But Russia will disintegrate because it is just economically not advantageous to rule all 83 regions from one center. Vladivistok is closer to China economically than to Moscow.

  • the ways of new lands acquisition, exploration, and colonization were totally different in Russia compared to european countries. luckily for Russia, all new lands were close to the country, their population was immediately given all civil rights of Russian citizen, the lands were not expropriated in absolute majority of cases and so on and on. look at european colonization of America, India, Africa. totally different stories.

russian mix of 150 ethnoces is doomed to live together.

  • please, better think in advance and then say. are those regions in Siberia and Far East are very different from the rest of the country economically, by the level of life, by ethnic composition, culture, etc? not at all! if you take some regions in european part of Russia they are in even worse conditions that Novosibirsk, Krasnoyarsk, and other siberian regions. ethnic and cultural components are about the same everywhere. no ground for desintegration.

    as for empires, (followed)

  • mikkitiny - You are wrong because the disintegration of Russia will be the result of economic factors in ethnically Russian regions. Nationalist movements are too weak. The disintegration will start in Siberia and the Far East and spread all over Russia. The time of colonial empires is over.

  • uhahahahah!
