We were using our knowledge of physics to calculate the approximate distance that the potato should have gone. With the ridiculous amount of wind resistance that we encountered, our results actually came out about right. The velocity of the potato was approximately 35 m/s (meters per second) and it ended up going 320 feet out. According to the math, the exact distance the potato should have gone would be 410 feet (or 125 meters) if shot at exactly a 45 degree angle (which we measured out) but that's if there was absolutely no wind resistance. Obviously you're not going to find that in a real life situation, lol.

The stuff at the end is just fun stuff. The chicken wire and the board were shot with a potato but the gallon of water, the metal plate, and the box were shot by a PVC cap.

  • I skipped ahead and stopped at the most inopportune time of "Owwwww, c'mon owwwwww! Daaaaad!" With the annotations "He pushed it in deeper." o.o

I'm usually not one to resort to that stuff first but... come on. xD

  • Dynamite + pima ? lol

  • Awesome :) I did the exact same thing but only once...... losing sight of the potato because it went to high is kinda scary.....it landed like 15 feet from us... We calculated it to have traveled from the barrel at 99.98 mph

  • Nice XD

  • Nice man haha

  • FIRST! Nice vid
