  • is the romanian national anthem the music at 1:17?

  • yes :)

  • adina, You did a good job with the english subtitles. It would be great if you could continue to do more english subtitles for romanian gymnastics documentaries on youtube so I (and many others in the US) could learn more about romanian gymnasts. Romanian gymnastics is formidable. Congrat to sandra izbasa for her olympic gold!

  • thank you very much. as soon as new documentaries appear i will post them with english subtitles. :)

  • Romanians girls are very girly and beautiful

  • Forminte is yet to prove himself, and us romanians dont rly tolerate failure in our top sport. We shall see what he can do in the next olympics.

My fav coach is Adrian Goreac who lead Romania between 1981-1990,too bad we cant have him coaching,he lives in France for 17years.

    Bellu&Bitang are my second choice.

  • i want a hot tub in my gym!

  • I don't miss B&B because they don't treat their gymnasts like humans.....these coaches do and they still got the bronze medal.....they should be proud.

  • im an american gymnast and all my coaches are from romania is it really popular there to do gymnastics cause thats what most people tell me

  • According to intlgymnast, Belu and Bitang are coming back, so we won't have to endure another embarrassment like Beijing in London! (Not a slam against Forminte - he did his best.)

  • her name is Izbaşa not Izbasa...

"ş" in english is "sh" from "sheep".

  • many people even today don't realize that family name + given name, was(is?) a symbol of communism systematization and still use that in official documentation or when presenting themselves.

some do know about it and use the reverse order.

many use both ways of personal name reference in different social environments.

depending on their education someone might or might not know of the substratum on presenting oneself in one way or the other.

ofc, the modern take is: Given name + Family name.

  • it's a social and historic thing. during the communist regime individuality and realisations on a personnal level were undesired and docile behavior encouraged. systematization of everything in life(school, work, army etc) was the norm...and that means using an alphabetical representation of all in that certain category; so, Family Name(Surname) + Given Name(s)(given by godfathers) was the structure used.

  • @Natalie9911 She is Romanian. Their letters aren't pronounced exactly the same as ours. So an 's' in Romanian must be pronounced like 'sh'

  • y do some of the girls pronounce their names first then last n some last then first? also...thanks for posting!

  • i thought Izbasa is pronounced izbasa not izbasha
