I will be a DEMOCRAT for LIFE because of this move. The Republican pandering is shameful.
When Obama was losing the nomination to Hillary because of the WOMEN vote and he finally won, McCain ran out and picked a WOMAN. The American people saw through this.
Now the republicans put Jindal up because of his brown skin and elect Mr. Steele because he is black to counter obama.
They are shameful. I am a democrat for life now.

There's no surgery going on. Our country is addicted to debt, and we need to go cold turkey to fix the problem. Politicians would never go for that, because that would mean standing back and not trying to micro-manage everything that goes on in the economy.

Would you deny painkillers to a drug addict who was undergoing surgery? The fact of past abuse doesn't change the prescription for the current ailment.

10.6 billion? you mean trillion ... and divided by 350,000,000 americans that would be about 31,000 dollars each

We do have over 170 trillion dollars in assets for our 10.6 billion dollars of public debt... (spending 200-400 billion* per year JUST on interest payments).
We're not broke; we just have a very large debt.
