1604 error for Windows XP

@macman2003p honestly I no longer have my Ipod touch for it is broken from a differnt reason. I had never had the 14 error. And this video is kind of old so I no longer know anymore. Im sorry.

It doesnt work, Uninstalling and reinstalling doesnt help the case, These sies stay on your computer even if you remove itunes.

@Fgmmonika I didnt know that. The newer itunes wont even attempt to restore my ipod touch 1g so I honestly gave up and im going to end up buying a zune lol

@TheWhodatnigga Ok when you went to the site you have to look at what version of the software your downloading. Depending on what gen you ipod is you have to read what gen the software is for. After you download the one that matches you specific ipod gen do the same thing, it should work. If it did/did not work message me back. If not let me know you Ipod gen

...and found itunes.exe and ended the process. this closed down itunes but the iphone stayed on the black screen. I reopened itunes again and it redetected the iphone and then restored it perfectly with no error. So i'm assuming this will also work with the itouch and possibly other ipods. basically when it hangs at the preparing to restore end the itunes process, restart it, and it should work.

If you have another computer without anything on your library you can just use that to restore and update:)
