@timonraphael I've just found out that the drum sounds actually come from Led Zepellin's version of When the Levee Breaks, so it's Phil Collins vs John Bonham. The latter wins.

@timonraphael There's no accounting for taste. These analogue electronic drums sound much better and more powerful, if you ask me. What sounds like a cheap demo to you is an unadorned straightforward song to me, as opposed to the more commercial Collins version full of cheap unnecessary sounds and effects here and there that spoiled the beauty of the original.

@colin5577 this "original" version sounds like a cheap home-demo besides the version with phil collins' powerful drums and backing vocals...! I guess howard would say the same, ask him!
