Southwest 1978- Harley Race vs Jerry Stubbs- Rocky Johnson Interview to close out the show- Footage from the Mid Atlantic area as Race was the NWA champ at this time and Jerry Stubbs would go on to the Mid South area and become Mr. Olympia. As for Rocky Johnson, I guess everyone knows that he is the father of the Rock.

  • Southwest? Nope! Midatlantic

  • @mcfrs The old territories would trade footage to one another if there was a guy who was coming into the area. This was a great way for fans to get a sneak peek at a wrestler before they arrived.

  • Prior to going to Alabama, Jerry Stubbs was a journeyman in Georgia and Mid-Atlantic. He was billed from Forest Park, GA, a suburb of Atlanta.

  • wow, hot match...and who's the HOT REF?!

  • I think Stubbs hit the weight room with a vengeance in the next few years...

  • Actually wrestlers do "hurt" each other...amateur wrestling "hurts" as does any contact sport. The thing is in pro wrestling is not to "injure" your opponent...no way around not feeling the pain or hurt...but to be a pro wrestler one has to like giving and receiving pain...the true professional such as a Harley Race never tried to injure someone on purpose.

  • Harley Race was great at the ART of pro wrestling--making it look real without hurting the opponent. Total respect for the body of his opponent. Pro wrestling is truly a lost art.

  • Wow old school. AWESOME! I grew up watching Harley Race, he's from KC. I would watch him wrestle, Brody, and Flair at Memorial hall. I was like 12 lol. I would love to see more of Harley, if you have any. Thanks in advance
