A piano solo version of Saint-Saens famous mezzo-soprano aria (as recently ripped off by the band Muse), arranged by the superb Dutch pianist Frederic Meinders (but played by me). The first half is a study for left hand alone. Although this is largely based on Meinders' written score, I've approximated some of the variants from his performance at Husum and made a few minor alterations of my own.

  • That was so beautiful!

  • Nice to see you and hear you with some new video's Andrew, even without dressing gown!;-)

Inspired playing, (is that an old Blüthner by the way? Lovely sound!) effective arrangement. I remember Meinders's impressive solo recitals very well, I heard Ravel's solo-version of "La Valse" for the first time in his breathtaking performance somewhere in the 80s.
