Rivals - In Cinemas December 5

Francois is an ambitious young detective on the trail of a gang of notorious bank robbers. His private life is complicated but, professionally, he is going places, until his older brother, Gabriel, is released from prison. Gabriel promises to go straight and Francois allows his brother to live in his apartment while he finds him a job. But Francois adoration of his older brother quickly turns to resentment when Gabriel is convicted of murder. Francois joins the police and soon impresses his superiors, but Gabriel could once more wreck his hopes and plans.

Francois Cluzet, who won a Cesar for best actor for his performance in TELL NO ONE, co-stars as Gabriel with Guillaume Canet, who also received a Cesar for Best Director for Tell No One, as Francois.

Really good film with an excellent period vibe that makes you think it could have been made at the time its set. The French are the masters of Policiers.
