You would have been forgiven for thinking that ITV did not accompany their trade test transmissions but this was only the case after the switching over to the ETP-1 testcard in 1978, but until then music did accompany the earlier testcards in the regions, but Test Card D was actually accompanied by music from The Shadows. Enjoy!!!!

  • The Guitar Group Is Called "The Cosmos." They Ran From 1957 - 1964.

  • As an apprentice TV engineer in the late 1960s, I remember the test card was accompanied with the Shadows tracks between 12.00 and 1.00 each day from the Emley Moor transmitter. The service department I worked in had six service bays. I used to rig a TV in each bay as soon as the engineers had gone for lunch and turn them up full volume. It sounded fantastic !!

  • I agree with a previous poster - this music is not the original Shadows recording used by the ITA. They are Shadows hits but not played by them.

  • Is The Shadows Better Then The Ventures?

The Shadows are greatest Guitar Musical Genesis.

  • Shadows is my most favourite music of the 60s and still I love the numbers very much! Truly it is very interesting guitar music!
