BBC sunucusu Catriona Shearer, ilk olarak Nazi Almanyası'nın lideri Adolf Hitler'in yardımcısı Rudolf Hess'in İkinci Dünya Savaşı'nda gizli barış anlaşması yapmak için İskoçya'ya gelmesi ve tutuklanmasının 70'inci yıldönümünden bahsediyordu. Hess yerine başka bir haberin konusu olan kadının resmi gösterildi. Yapılan hatanın farkına varan Shearer, görüntülerin kesilmesinin ardından seyircilerden özür diledi ve sözü hava durumu spikerine bıraktı. Birkaç saniyelik sessizlikten sonra, ekranda Rudolf Hess'in "Sieg Heil!" (Yaşasın Zafer) diye bağıran görüntüleri belirdi. İlerleyen saniyelerde iki haberin görüntüleri de birbirine karıştı.
