  • I was changing the air filter on my vr6 today, and noticed a hose that was torn to shreds, after searching for hours I find out its a SAI hose that is made of plastic and cracks alot, really want to just replace it with a rubber tube, just access to this stuff is so hard

  • @Brendon00000 Just go to you local parts store and replace it with Fuel Line hose or Radiator Hose and if you can't find it there just go to Home Depot or Lowes and get some hose there it will all work the same.

  • Lionell8732 ... can you explain that again... that doesn't make much sense reading it.

  • Rip88Tide... I agree replacing the valve the hose and valve it's self is a cheaper route, but alot of the time the actual pump will go bad on you especially on American VW's where they put the 2nd Air Pump they are prone to fill with water and by the time you realize it the pump is bad as well...

  • jasonz14... check out this website it will tell you... P1423 - Sec.Air Inj.Sys.,Bank1 Flow too Low... check all they hoses going to it make sure there isn't any leaks.

Do a search for Volkswagen Diagnostic Trouble Codes

Bentley Publishing should be one of the sites that pop up so go there to check out the codes. Bentley is a major publisher for all Service Manuals for Automobiles.

  • Whatsmynameb.... I'll agree with that, but the design was all wrong they could have put the pump higher in the engine compartment and moved it up and back a little so water wouldn't get into it.

  • You're the man.. Thanks for the assist.

  • Don't forget to breathe

  • I got a 96 monte carlo 3.4L dohc engine and I got a code of p0410 and I replace the air pump with a new one and now the code came back on an I'm having driving problems with this code. Can anyone help me because everytime I accelerate my car won't push at all, I have the push down on the gas just to speed up when I'm on the highway.

  • oh he also had to replace the secondary Air Injection valve . Not expensive tho.

  • I have a 2000 jetta vr6 and one of my bud has the same car and all it was on his car was the 4mm vaccuum Hose, check the hose going into and out, and it could also be the secondary air injection valve, these are WAY cheaper to fix so checkthese first. the vaccuum hose just go to auto zone and get 4 mm emessions tubing, i got to check all this on my car hopefully it just that, the vaccuum hose gets so bad it crumbles apart in your hands.

  • I found on my ...1995 Eagle Talon ESI.. that the Air ejection valve/pump is a factory recall and Chrysler or Mitsubishi will replace it for free..
