  • He seems a very charming person with little pretension - unlike alot of conceptual artists of recent times

  • I'm attempting to at least help answer your question. This piece was filmed between the years of 1960 & 1966. I'm tending to favor 1965 or so. During this time Duchamp was living in Philadelphia while working on last piece- Etant Donne "The Given." Which is now in the Philadelphia museum along with the great Large Glass. This video I'm about 90% sure was done in N.Y. city.

  • Duchamp, not Duchamps.

  • thanks for posting this interview. Very interesting and great artist.

  • the French are usually the ones who speak English worse among Europeans, but this was not the case with marcel

  • @dojufitz Duchamp's pretension is through the roof. If you read a book on him you'll see that he was always making outrageous claims about himself in order to gain publicity and money.

  • OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO0OOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO0OOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOO oOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

  • Mmmm. I could have sworn he died in the U.S. I also understood that his body was sent back to Europe a number of years after his death.

  • Marcel Duchamp, not Duchamps.
