There are 85 pages of comments which span 5 years! This song touches me at deep level, and it's hard to express to those with no connections to the South just how this song tugs at the heartstrings. I was born in Dixie, but most of my life has been spent away. I've spent a lifetime pining for my Southern kin, the smell of a humid summer, grits, fried okra, boiled peanuts, lightning storms, prayers over supper, etc. I feel like a 'good ole boy' without a homeland--this song speaks to me.
