I actually didn't mind this game when i was a kid...cool atmosphere, eerie music, jason scared the heck out of me in the cabins, and it was challenging....too many people give this game a bad rap...(like avgn, and even EGM magaizine at the time it was released) this is probable the only LJN game that I actually liked....once you know how to play it, it is actuall kind of fun....Was I the only person who actually liked this game????

You know what's disturbing about this game? Here is an NES game that implies that young children will be slaughtered by a maniac! but yet the MPAA butchered several of the movies so they could get the standard "R" rating. Jason never actually kills children in the movies, but the folks at good old LJN get by with suggesting that children will be murdered if you don't save them.
What's even funnier is that it's on Nintendo. The same company that watered down MK1 for killing adult fighters.

Not for me. There was nothing original about it at all. It was Halloween only set in a camp and without the aspects of Halloween that made it great.
Look in comparison to Nightmare on Elm Street, that was at least creative and good.

Well the first movie was good

Well take a crap movie series and you get a crap game.
you clearly have no idea how to play that game. first off, george is not "the most useful character in the game". he is slow and has poor jumps. Mark and Crissy are obviously the best.
Second, you can use the "pass" command to transfer weapons.
Third, the cure option only allows you to heal a character in a cabin, but when you have no life and get hit, you automatically cure yourself. And last, you made no attempt to light the fireplaces, which the game says to do when you start. a poor vid.

Good review, though I do like this game and think it's unfairly put down often.
It's successful in creating a tense atmosphere and has a very good creepy tune.
You should have gone into the forest abnd cave and tried to fine Jason's mother's sweater.
