WINTER (VIVALDI FOUR SEASONS)

that's the whole point of his music :-)

I suppose in a temperate climate we can anticipate the seasons and prepare for them. We know that winter can be harsh so people years ago collected wood, dried fruit and stored food for their animals - it is the contrast with Summer which makes us appreciate the seasons and I think Vivaldi conveys the contrast in his music.

yay as soon as the exams are over. If only because we then have a near maximum time before more exams!

nice I like winter a lot but I'm about to start autumn for the violin and might solo with dukes youth orchestrs. also nice slide show. I also partialy agree w/supercrazyscientist

in my opinion,these masterpieces are vivaldi's view of which season.Some understand different feelings and truths behind his work...open your mind,even in spring you can see "something " you dont "like"

Lighten up, winter can be beautiful too with the stillness of the air and lovely white snow. It's not about starvation and pain. lol Maybe you should go live some place where it's summer year round? But then you'd probably complain about that too.

I understand the music, Im just wondering why people think winter is so beautiful when it throughout history has been the worst time every year.. not peaceful at all, people freeze to death, lose food, get lost, had to work all year to have enough food to last the winter.. it was a terrible time.. :P
