You can see the way the red shirt guy was eating so cleverly...by taking slow bites chewing it slowly which helps the heat from his mouth to fly out bit by bit at least. Water doesn't help but at least it helps slide down the hotness from his throat faster. Whilst the black jacket guy gobbles so fast at first bite which is a wonder why he couldn't finish it and plus drinking beer...just won't help because of the acid burns...

Hi, I'm not from the US...i'm from Australia. Down here, I have never come across where people make burgers with chilli that hot. Is that burger you are eating that hot?

Y'all are some BAMF's! Water ain't s'pose to help though.

@jdkriek well congrats to you both for attempting and double congrats to your friend for completing the burger. Texas love
If you want to cool down the heat, don't drink beer or ice water. It doesn't help. You have to drink or eat something dairy; like milk, ice cream, plain yogurt or sour cream. There's something in dairy food that breaks up the capsaicin, which is the substance that makes the peppers so hot.

@HotChiliHead Yeah, you are not allowed to drink milk (or any dairy for that matter) during the challenge. Granted the beer wasn't the best choice, but I've never done this before and in the end nothing you were allowed to drink would help anyway.

I have to say you 2 have Balls of steel but the guy in the black is drinking alcahol so it would decrease the heat but not much but still must have burned like hell

@Toned963 Yeah the beer I was drinking did help the heat a little, but only for a second. The carbonation was causing me to burp and forced me to vomit. The Habanero EXTRACT "cheater" sauce is what did me in. Felt like a lighter was in my stomach for sure. My buddy that actually finished the burger said he would never do it again. because of the pain we were both in for days afterwards.

Hats off to you buddy, you and your buddy doing this besides Adam Richman makes me want to travel over there and try it myself.

@Crimsonfox05 I can't say I would recommend anyone do this, especially after the pain I was in afterwards, but hey you only live once and I gave it my best shot. I started out as just moral support for my buddy that actually ended up finishing the burger, lol. I'm glad that I attempted it, but would never do it again. Everything tasted like mayonnaise for months afterwards for some reason =)
