The people have spoken, casting more than 100,000 votes in the fourth annual America's Transportation Awards competition. Holding tight onto an early lead, the Washington State Department of Transportation claimed the People's Choice Award for its Operation I-5 Partnership Project.
A panel of transportation experts also weighed in, judging the Florida Department of Transportation's Interstate 10/Interstate 95 interchange rebuild project known as The Big I, as this year's Grand Prize Winner. In addition to the two top prizes, both state DOTs also took home checks for $10,000 to be donated to a charity or a scholarship fund.
