One way to add a vignette to an image in Photoshop (CS3 was used, but anything back to version 6 or 7 should work almost exactly the same)

  • Guys this tutorial is terrible! Please don't use gradients! Il make a video my self showing how to make a proper clean vignette .

  • @remycoteMM In my opinion, a gradient is a quick, accurate and effective way to make a vignette. I would be curious to see your method though.

  • Man, I use this about once every month. Just long enough to forget it and have to come back and re-watch it. :) thanks for posting!

  • @remycoteMM Really? Just curious because it seems to work pretty well. You can adjust layer transparency for solidness using gradients. Layer effects blend well and it's easy to disable it as well.

  • LOVE this! thanks!

  • Works great and easy!

  • Thank you - very helpful.

  • Thanks a lot for this one.

Ulead photoImpact has a special edge softner function which can be used on any layer . I would have thought that photoshop would have one too by now.
