alexkvaskov, the van does have a crumple zone. it is built into the chassis in front of the wheels.

well obviously wasn't effective
it was probably going at a very high speed that even today's vehicles with lots of safety features cannot protect from

Yeah. I bet a modern VW transporter or ford transit would do the exact same thing with all that weight in the back, and all the speed. The 80's VW bus was famous at the time for kicking volvo's ass, safety wise.

Erst einmal ist das kein "BUS" sondern eine Doppelkabine!!! zweitens hatte die "Doka" Gewichte auf der Ladefläche!
Drittens wurde mit dem Test eine neue Teststrecke "eingeführt"!!!

Well you can load your T3 up with some heavy stuff but I don't think that little van could carry enough weight to create such carnage at normal speeds. When you have a head on impact with a concrete wall at 60mph you'll be fucked up anyway.
