They're upset because of the gender stereotyping. I personally think she's cute. But I think it does kinda ruin the "explorer" image a bit. If I were going to new places, etc, I wouldn't want to do it in a dress, legging, and ballerina slippers. Apparently she's going to be "solving mysteries". Making the outfit plausible. "This version of Dora is an age-appropriate doll that lets girls continue to learn and grow with the character." Essentially, all tomboys must grow up. Cue outrage.

Why are parents "disappointed" .? This Dora isnt hoochie. She's clean & pure lol. If their disappointed in her being a tween *news flash* your daughter will become
One too !

Personally, I don't see what's so controversial about the tween Dora image. She doesn't look racy at all, she just looks like an 11-12 year old girl.

........what the fuck is a tween?!

Wtf. The new Dora is cool. .
What the hell are they 'disappointed' about? She has longer hair and her clothes are slightly more feminine.
"Leggings, a tunic and a headband...THAT DIRTY SLUT.
DON'T TRY TO PRETEND LIKE THOSE LEGGINGS AREN'T TO COVER YOUR KNEES WHEN YOU'RE KNEELING DOWN BLOWING A DUDE.
AND THAT TUNIC--A TUNIC?! YOU MIGHT AS WELL BE WEARING A G-STRING ON A STRIPPER POLE, YOU NASTY WHORE, YOU."
