The Flaming Lips, live in union square, San Francisco, CA on May 13th, 1995. This video has been sitting around since 1995, when I shot it and never traded it. I'm not sure anyone wants to see early live footage of when the Flaming Lips were just a psychedelic punk band. Here's their big single, She Don't Use Jelly. Enjoy!

  • @dekanbackward

His slide is doing an awful lot of work, as is the whammy bar! Syd Barret was onto a similar vibe on the early Floyd stuff

  • @Tracebebo kliph didnt play on yoshimi but he played live. his first studio work with the lips was on embryonic

  • @QliffS Steven joined fall of '91 on drums and played drums up until '96. Ronald left and then he took care of guitar and drums on Zaireeka and Soft Bulletin. Then Kliph joined for Yoshimi. That answer your question?

  • God Ron was a sick guitarist

  • oh, do u know how ronald was getting the weird spaceshipy sounds? i've been searching and i haven't found anything

  • it sounds like reverb, delay, and a digitech whammy, but it might not be a whammy. it just sounds like a pitch modulator, but there might be a phaser too.

  • im in the crowd! any shots of the crowd jumping aroud?

  • i think the guitar was a rickenbacker, idk
