great video. I love the camera shot of the the yellow Vette called Nymphomania then the next shot was of a girl in a yellow shirt with a nice set on her. They knew their demographics back then. lol. I love seeing these old drag racing videos from back when drag racing was cool. wonder if there are any film from Maple Grove from this era or a little later?
YEAH jim wangers! read his book "Glory Days", read it if you get the time. really cool book about the auto industry and some good stuff about drag racing and royal pontiac!
I was there when it happened, Worked at Krogers at the Speedway Shopping Center where the cars were registered and weighed in. This brings back many memories!!! Lee Walker
The beginning shows a Royal (Pontiac) being towed in ~ Royal was a heavy hitter back in the middle 60's. This is midwest drag racing and though I grew up in SoCal and lived at Lions, Irwindale, OCIR, Pomona and Fontana (from '64 until I was drafted in '69) this video STILL brings back wonderful memories of a time when drag racing was different, a bit more fun and much more simple. Even the best top fuel cars, back then, had a crew of only 2 or 3 ~ and all the guys worked 40 hr. a week jobs too

Thank you for posting such a great Video.
I raced in southeast Michigan in the late 60's, did the family thing in 70, raced a 68 Camaro at Indy in 1980....
My son restored my 67 Camaro the way I used to race it in 68 and 69.
If you want to see it as I "cruised" around Detroit last fall just put in Whine Maker in youtube.
It's a long video but it was fun.
Wow, I wish I could have been at Indy in the early 60's!
Again....Thank you for posting this great video.
