Belkin Wireless G+ MIMO router disconnect bug rant

This has been happening to, not only me, but to people all over who have the same router as I do... luckily, I might be changing it soon!

** UPDATE **

Yeah! W00T! I threw away the piece of ****! Now I got a DLink DIR-615 Router that's sending me through 13mbps downlink and 2mbps uplink for my internet speed!

I think its because it overheats... because i have the same router and when it disconnects is very hot

@ViperFallenAngel I can tell you for sure that it did not overheat for me back when mine was operational. Rather, it was in normal operating condition and it still had that problem.

If your getting disconnected every 10-15 mins than its probably an issue with the ports. Find out what ports your game/console uses and open them.

@hewittdj1 No, that's not it. I tested it for hours, days, weeks... all up to even a half a year, and the same problem occurred. I couldn't even go through a 1GB download without a download manager.

Of course, this was a long while back before I got the D-Link DIR-615.

same problem i have a ps3 and 2 laptops connected wirelessly and my xbox 360 is wired....guess which one disconnects....my wired xbox 360!!! idk why but when someone is on the ps3 i get disconnected constantly on my xbox! it makes me so mad. linksys is epic win people. belkin sucks! P.S. please send me a message if you know a solution for this i am sick of putting up with this crap....

@etpark5 Do what I did... get a new router that's NOT a Belkin router... D-Link & Linksys, in my opinion, are the best ones out there.

CHANGE THE SECURITY SETTINGS AT THE BELKIN IP ADDRESS  192.168.2.1 TO WPA-PSK NOT WPA(2)-PSK, IDK KNOW WHY IT MATTERS BUT FIXED MINE

GO TO THE BELKIN ROUTER SETUP IP ADDRESS (192.168.2.1) LOGIN (DEFAULT LOGIN IS BLANK) , CHANGE SECURITY SETTINGS TO WPA-PSK NOT WPA(2)-PSK, THIS WILL KEEP YOUR PS3, XBOX, WII, ETC... FROM DISCONNECTING. HOPE THIS HELPS, GOOD LUCK ALL

i suspected it was too hot but before this, i open it 24/7 and got no probs.never gonna buy belkin anymore

@SomeRandomDudeOnYT I opened mine and made holes for fans in the casing and it worked for 3 days straight without disconnecting then i got a new one....

I have an ps3 and a pc and i'm playing games on both and I gets dc after 10 min, I have a belkin N+ router wtih wireless and since we bougth that router i've always bin dc,I have tried all kinds of stuffs, ports, uPnP and so on, should I buy a new sort of router or what ?
