@MrCarl220 One episode had a cop who packed an entire arsenal in his car. One had a Marine who had a shotgun in his car. I think there might of been others, but those stand out.

@FannoFlow They probably would, but the cops can't take that chance. Several of these guys have been armed to the teeth, and when backed against a corner they might fight back. It's also very easy to obtain an illegal gun in the US, and even a knife can pose a serious threat. They also don't want the guy trying to kill himself, so they have to move in quickly and violently before he can even react. If they drop their guard just once, people can be killed.

But they aren't. Usually it's some nerdy, lonely, socially awkard guy who probably hasn't ever had a run in with the police before.
Most of them are usally in tears and shitting themselves when they see that they've been exposed.
I mean it's very funny and I enjoy watching it everytime as I laugh at them but it's probably unnecessary. If you just told them to stop and lie down on the ground they probably would do so without causing any trouble.
